MEG + GUS

Megan and Gus were married the first weekend in December at Hoosier Grove Barn. The wedding started off with Meg getting ready with her best of friends and close family members at their hotel. What was amazing to me, was when I walked in to the hotel that morning, Meg was already done with her makeup and the hair and make-up team were doing great on time! It helped the day move so much easier. There wasn’t any stressing about getting behind schedule, and Meg was able to spend the morning relaxing with her girls.

Gus and the guys got ready at the venue in the Loft area, where they spent a few moments doing their getting ready photos. They also had extra time, so while they waited for Meg and the bridesmaids to arrive, they enjoyed a McDonald’s lunch and were able to just sit around the table and talk. When I asked Gus if he was nervous, he said “Not at all”. Which really showed me that he was ready to marry his girl.

Meg and Gus have been together for 9 years - they started dating and eventually became a couple that were so close, they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other. They moved in together, and even adopted their first feline fur-baby, Chloe. While Chloe couldn’t physically be there at the wedding, she was mentioned all throughout the day, and the wedding favors were beer holders with Chloe engraved on them. It really was the sweetest touch to help personalize their wedding.

Meg and Gus had their engagement session about a year ago, where we were able to get together and learn more about one another. This really helped the flow of their wedding day, as we were able to fly through their portraits, giving them their full cocktail hour to mingle with their guests.

During the last couple of weeks before their wedding, Meg reached out to me wanting to see if we could do a fake first look with Gus and one of the groomsmen - Of course my response was “Absolutely!”, and this first look was everything! The groomsmen was decked in his own wedding dress, topped with a napkin veil to keep the traditional bridal look. Gus was definitely surprised!

Meg and Gus are one of the most genuine people I’ve met - it was so great getting to work with them and see their wedding day dreams come true. Meg and Gus, I wish the two of you nothing but a lifetime of happiness!
