Gabbie and Jacob
Gabbie and Jacob had their engagement session in the beginning of November, and while I was skeptical that the weather would be good for the session, when the day arrived, it was an unusual sunny-and-60-degrees outside, which is kind of rare as we head into the colder months of the year.
Gabbie and Jacob met at a street concert that happened in downtown Wheaton, where Jacob and Gabbie instantly connected, and formed their friendship. A little while later, Gabbie was in the process of trying to move a dresser, and was trying to get movers to help. Jacob had heard about her needing to move this piece of furniture, so he offered to help - Which Gabbie thought was super sweet, and I have to say, I agree!
A couple of years later, and these two were in a Christmas Parade for the town of Wheaton, where they were both wearing Mickie and Minnie Mouse costumes to be in the parade. Wheaton was performing their annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony, and once the tree was lit, with the help of friends and family close to the two of them, Jacob planned the best proposal - Where he made a scene and proposed to her as they were still in costume - with a big "pretend" ring to fit around Minnie's fingers!
Fast forward almost a year later, and we spent the afternoon walking through downtown Wheaton where they showed me their favorite spots that were important to them - The drama theater, the closed down movie theater, the popcorn shop, the music pavilion (where he proposed), and so many other small spots. This engagement session was different from others I've done in the past, because these two knew where they wanted to go for their engagement session, and wanted to document these important spaces in their town so that they can remember it for years to come.
I am so excited to photograph their wedding in a few short months - January can't come soon enough!
