Carrie + Todd

Carrie and Todd fell in love with one another after meeting one another at Disneyland in California. I first met Carrie at an open house here in the suburbs of Chicago, and I could immediately tell that she was so excited to get to marry her best friend. A few weeks later, I met both and Carrie and Todd virtually, while they sat in warm 70 degree weather, and I sat in a stereotypical Chicago winter. We chatted for almost an hour, getting to know one another and planning out what package would be the best for their needs.

Fast forward to April - Carrie and Todd took a road trip from Florida to Illinois (roughly 17 hours!) where they had their cake tasting, met with their caterers, Carrie had her hair trial, AND they had their engagement session - all within less than a week! These guys are seriously super stars because I have NO clue how they were able to get all of this done in the short amount of time that they were here.

Their engagement session was SO much fun! When I met with them at Cantigny, it felt like meeting old friends - chatting about the weather and their trip to Illinois. When I tell you this session almost got rained out - I stalked the Weather Channel for about 48 hours before their session, praying to God that they'd get to have their outdoor session. In the days leading up to their session, all signs of doing their session outdoors wasn't looking too good. We made a backup plan, but secretly - I was still hoping that we could get a break in the weather. Two hours before their session, the chance of rain went from 80% down to a MIRACULOUS 13% chance. The clouds were still there, but they ended up being PERFECT. As soon as I got into my car to leave after photographing their session, it POURED.

God heard our prayers, and the results are amazing! I love how happy Carrie and Todd are, and how they're able to pick on one another. Not even 5 minutes into their session, I tell Carrie to cuddle up to Todd's arm and look up at him, and she says something to Todd that had them BOTH bent over laughing hysterically. I live for moments like this with my couples.

Carrie and Todd, I am so dang excited for your wedding in November! Please bring some of your Florida heat back up when you come back, so we have a warm wedding day!
