I loved meeting up with Dana and Matt this past Friday for their engagement session at Lilacia Park in Lombard IL. Lilacia Park is one of the prettiest hidden gems in the Chicago suburbs for engagement photos — especially in early summer when the flowers and greenery are at their peak.
We met just before sunset and spent about an hour and a half wandering through the park together. The evening light was soft and beautiful, which made the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos.
Dana and Matt are getting married in just 3 months at Highland Event Lofts in Elgin, IL — and after spending time with them, I know their wedding day is going to be full of so much love and joy.
One of the things that stood out to me most during this session was how caring they are toward each other. Matt is currently recovering from ankle surgery, but he was determined to show up and make the session everything Dana had envisioned (especially since they’ll be using these photos for their wedding invitations!). Throughout the session, Dana was always checking in on him, and Matt didn’t hesitate to pose, move around the park, and do whatever it took to create the photos they wanted together. It was such a beautiful example of partnership and love in action.
Lilacia Park is one of my favorite Lombard IL engagement photo locations because of its charming garden spaces, blooming flowers, and quiet little corners. It’s perfect for couples who want a romantic, natural feel for their engagement portraits.
