Hoosier Grove Barn - Streamwood, illinois

I met Julie and Mike earlier this year, as they began to plan for their wedding. They were planning to have their wedding at the same venue where I was married, in 2019 - Hoosier Grove Barn. This space has very quickly become my favorite for weddings - not because it has a personal connection to myself (although I always get to relive my time as a bride here) - but because Vicki and her staff are simply the best. They put so much time and effort into making sure everything is PERFECT. You really couldn't ask for a better wedding day crew.

I met up with Julie in the morning, as she and the rest of her girls finished getting ready. We said our hellos, I met her gals, and then I grabbed her wedding details and went down to the reception hall, to give them space before I began pointing my camera in their face.

Julie is SUCH a sweet bride - She had the most simplistic details, and while they may have been simple, they definitely match Julie 100%. She is sweet, caring, and wants to make sure YOU are taken care of before she is - which she definitely showed on the day of her wedding, by helping the bridesmaids set up the reception details, and making sure her parents were taken care of before she was ready to get into her dress.

At the ceremony, while Julie nd Mike went with a short and sweet ceremony in the shade (we had the PERFECT weather!!) it was filled with emotions - from the vows Mike and Julie made to one another, to the vows that Julie made to her new daughter, Emma - I am pretty sure we were all in tears by the end of the ceremony.

As the ceremony finished, we were able to get through family formals in 10 minutes or so, as we had been able to get the majority of them before the ceremony, since these two opted for a First Look. They wanted to be able to enjoy their cocktail hour, and with the first look, that was made possible!

For the food - Julie and Mike spoke to my heart when dinner was served. (figuratively, of course). They had a full taco bar matched with a mac-n-cheese bar, and HOLY SMOKES - it was SO GOOD. We watched as Julie and Mike made their way around to each table, taking their time in thanking their loved ones for showing up. After dinner was served, Julie and Mike danced the night away, hardly leaving the dance floor.

Julie and Mike, thank you for such a wonderful time, and for putting your trust into SMP to capture your day. We loved being apart of it, and wish you nothing but the best!
