This past Saturday, June 21st, 2025, I had the absolute joy of photographing one of the most heartfelt weddings I’ve ever witnessed. Megan and Zeus — high school sweethearts turned soulmates — tied the knot in a romantic and joyful celebration filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.

From sunrise glam sessions to golden hour portraits and a dance floor that didn’t quit, this Streamwood, IL wedding was one for the books.

The day began before the sun came up — literally! Megan and her bridesmaids were in hair and makeup by 5:00 AM, getting glammed up at Megan’s childhood home. There’s something so special about brides getting ready in the house they grew up in. It felt intimate, nostalgic, and full of emotion — the perfect way to start a wedding day. While I photographed Megan’s bridal details, bridesmaid robes, and the sweetest first look with her girls, my second photographer headed over to a nearby hotel where Zeus and his groomsmen were suiting up and sharing a few laughs (and a toast or two).

Megan and Zeus said "I do" at the beautiful St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Streamwood, Illinois. The ceremony was traditional, heartfelt, and rich with meaning. You could feel the emotion in the room as the priest reflected on what it means to be husband and wife in the eyes of God. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Megan and Zeus promised forever — and they did it with the biggest smiles on their faces.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the always-stunning Lilacia Park in Lombard for bride and groom portraits. This botanical garden in the western suburbs of Chicago was the perfect backdrop for romantic portraits full of light, color, and movement. From sweet forehead kisses to spontaneous laughter (Zeus had Megan laughing all day long), their love truly shined through every photo. If you’re a couple looking for Chicago suburbs wedding photo locations, Lilacia Park is a gem — especially in the summer!

The celebration continued at the elegant Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn, IL — a venue that holds extra special meaning for Megan and Zeus. Years ago, this is where they danced the night away at their high school prom. And now, it’s where they celebrated the beginning of their forever. Talk about a full-circle moment. From prom dates to husband and wife, their return to the Abbington was nothing short of magical.

The ballroom was beautifully lit with soft uplighting and sparkling chandeliers, and every detail was curated with love. Their family and friends filled the room with the kind of energy that makes a photographer’s heart burst. From emotional toasts to a packed dance floor, the entire evening was a joyful celebration of a love story over a decade in the making.

One of my favorite parts about photographing Megan and Zeus’s wedding was knowing that their story began long before this day. They met in high school and have been inseparable ever since. Their connection runs deep — and their wedding day was the perfect reflection of their past, present, and future.

As a Chicagoland wedding photographer, it’s a gift to be able to document weddings that are as meaningful and story-rich as this one. Megan and Zeus, thank you for letting me be a part of such a beautiful chapter in your journey.
